Biography

My name is Eve Denton. I am 21 and was born in 2004, in Bedford. I first started my journey in the performing arts at 12 years old when I began to participate in school musicals such as Annie, Moana, Matilda and Alice in Wonderland. From showing a passion for the arts I received a scholarship from my secondary school to the Pauline Quirk Academy of Performing Arts, During this time I performed in shows such as Aladdin and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory at the Quarry Theatre Bedford with this company.

I then went on to study Performing arts at BTEC Level 2 and 3, I received a Distinction*. This gave me the qualifications I needed to apply for a Performing Arts BA Hons Degree at The University of Bedfordshire. So far I have completed units such as Devising Performance, Dance Technique and Choreography, Musical Theatre, Teaching and Community Practice, Digital Performance, Physical Theatre and Professional Practice. Completing these units has given me the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the performing arts sector.

I have also taken classes in commercial dance as well as completing workshops such as carnival dance, stage combat, jazz and auditioning. I am also currently learning British Sign Language in order to further my communication skills.

I aspire to one day become a performing arts teacher in a secondary school and go on to direct and choreograph my own shows that all students will get the opportunity to be in. I have always believed that everyone should be able to have access to the arts and my journey in giving back to others will start with helping students in schools. After I finish my Performing Arts Degree I am going on to complete my Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
